Hooray for the little loaches feeling more at ease again - very, very good stuff. . .I hope you manage to up their shoal eventually, but good to know they're doing well with only themselves.

I hope your Sengal is okay :/

It sounds like things are going very well over there. . . I can't IMAGINE doing a water change that immense. You know. . . your water-change is my entire tank?!
I'll try to get it in video. As for the Loaches...the big pet store got babies in again. So I finally caved in and we went up and got four little bitty babies. I got some plants that were on sale and created a nice area for them to dart in and out and hide in. They also had live black worms on sale so I stuffed the tank with those so everyone is happy.

As usual my senegals completely ignore the little bitty fish. I am hoping that Queen will do the same now that I have frozen silver-sides for her. I will have pictures and video as soon as possible. Also the senegal is doing well, his tail isn't so red anymore.

They do it to create an ideal place for bubble nests.

Hey Sang,

You know you could always set up the 20 gallon and let the new yoyos grow up in there until their big enough? Just a thought.

special ordering may be the way to do it though since you can just put them right into the big tank. I hope you get lucky and find some good priced big ones! :D

Well it took my current two several months to reach the size they are at right now. Probably between 2 to 6. I wish I could put them in their own tank but when I suggested getting my 20 back to run a temp grow out tank my family said no. Between the Betta and the giant tank they say no more.

See the above about setting up a temp tank and the reaction. That said I brought four home for 6.99 per fish. All four are healthy and since going into the tank they have not hidden at all. They are happily exploring, schooling and being little clowns. I did get some plants they had on sale to help give them more to dart into and feel safer.

EDIT:

And Video:

Once the audio does it's thing I've got great music for the background that reflects just how much joy I feel seeing them as a group again.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAW! I love Loaches. . . such sweet and silly creatures. It makes me so happy to see them together, I can tell (as much as I am able from a short video) that the bigger ones are way happy to have buddies again, too. With the addition of the new loachlings, and those gorgeous gourami - that tank has really come alive! You would think that a tank twice the size of the other would *seem* LESS active with all the extra space. Looking GREAT, Fox! I've got my fingers crossed that Queen leaves those little babies alone! Grow, babies, GROW!!!

Been doing well..fish counts. So far all four babies are still there. They enjoy schooling with the big ones and thankfully tend to keep to the left side of the tank (they favor the beige log).

Senegals don't even bother looking at them and Queen has definitely taken to the Silversides which should keep her sated enough to give the little ones a chance to grow.

The bigger ones are definitely showing an improvement in behavior. They are out even more often, and love to wrestle with the smaller ones (guess they have to establish who is in charge).

The Gourami love the additional plants. They seem to like darting in an out of the vegetation. They still eat like pigs.

Also speaking of Queen...I saw something that really makes me happy. She's coming out a bit more and sometimes when she does she goes towards the front right side of the tank. When the senegals are out there at the same time she's actually putting up with them. She's nowhere near as aggressive now towards the senegals...even tolerating them intruding on the big pipe every once in a while. He colors also seemed brighter today...that may be the fact she's now eating something much more substantial and meaty.

Wonderful news, Fox!!! I'm very glad to hear that all is going well with the new, and the older, additions. :)

Every time I ever hear about silver-sides now, I have the image of that video Mika linked with the crazy dude telling how to revive them. Ug...
