I really enjoyed that video, it was a great little look into their world. . . all poor eyesight considered, it's hilarious how she REALLY gets into little Stumpi's face and gives him a real look-over. You have to get the approval of The Queen to live in this tank! So far, he seems to be passing the test - and doesn't seem to be bothered in the slightest bit with having her all up in his business, lol! Stumpini comes across as a bit of a young whippersnapper, lol. I always imagine him to be a bit on the mischievous/cheeky side. Always putting more into fish than what is probably actually there. I have a problem with 'humanizing' fish, lol! Can't help it - they have such distinct personalities. There MUST be more to them than science would have us believe!
So odd about the nipping, I always think of Queen as an 'I do my thing, you do yours' kind of girl. . . I don't recall you mentioning it before, is this a relatively new development? I wonder. . . I seem to remember you saying not *TOO* far back, when Queen really started to be out more often, that you suspected that the last of her gills were gone, and she was kind of finally being forced out to come up for air. Would this be indicative of a bichir reaching maturity? Maybe she's just at the point where she's letting poor Sen, who has always been less shy and more visible, know who's the boss. . . kind of like my rams do. I hope it doesn't get to be any more aggressive than a nip here and there. . . *worries*
