Ooh. I don't know. I'd have to think about it. If I could get some dither fish, maybe silver dollars it might calm them down and make them come out more.

My Silver Dollars are the fish that need calming down. They go through periods where they are very shy and skittish. Right now they are patrolling the tank and putting on a good show, but some days that just hang around their favorite plant eyeballing everyone.

And by plant I mean fake plant because they will eat anything in in the way of real plants. (Maybe not everything, but a lot, they are voracious herbivores)

I gotta say though, they are some of my favorite fish! They love to eat, and they get along with everyone. They hate it when I root around the tank for any reason, and when I was catching the balas to move them to the 220, they were really unhappy with me.

One of my males is actively pursuing one of the ladies at the moment.

Yeah I've been doing some digging around and that kind of worries me. The whole being skittish thing. I think what I will do is when I get the money get some new plants, clean up the swords, and maybe get a new wood. Try to give the poor fish something nice on the left side to see if they will calm down and stop being so shy. Then if that doesn't work try something else. Getting dither fish won't solve anything if it's environmental that's causing the behavior.

Love how the tank is going, all cute lil fishies!

540L/140G - 'Tidal Jungle' (Crabs) | 254L/67g - 'Backwater Pool' (Fish/Snails) | 96L/25G - ''Twisted Minds" (Fish/Snails)

I've never had any problems with 'Impulse Buying'. They're just animals that I forgot I had planned to get.

Thanks Aussie. Cute little fishes need to stop photobombing my photos.

I tried so hard to get a good sharp picture but the glass needs to be cleaned and the rasa kept getting in the way.

Did better when he moved, didn't expect to get his tail.

After this pic the eel decided he didn't want any more photos. Btw, he has a name. He is called Percy after Percy Weasly from Harry Potter. He has a sharp face, is very alert, and seems to have his nose stuck up in the air all the time.

I also have two fat boisterious Burmese Loach (golden zebra loach) in the big tank called Fred and George.

I also got a nice close up picture of the drift and plant layout:

That aside I've got a bit of update on the big 150 Gallon. Today I scrubbed the walls, scrubbed the amazon sword's leaves, and trimmed off the ones that algae had killed off.

The left side looks so empty with the piece of wood gone. I'll fill it in with something eventually.

Also about the Rope-Fish, Steve as is his name is doing fine. His tail has healed up and he has a good appetite.

He's a neat little dude. I'm really hoping to be able to get at least one of the Rope-Fish that came into the pet-store if they still have them.

I'm thinking about getting things like smaller pieces of wood to stack up against the back of the tank. That way the loaches could have a myriad of good hiding places. Still need one big one eventually though to make my shy Gourami happy.
