I have pondsnails that live their entire lives out in planted jars on my windowsill, lol. They're fine and live for quite a long time. I don't have pondsnails in my tanks, but I don't have the heart to kill them when they come in on new plants. . .MTS are lovely, I have them in all of my tanks.

Happy rock hunting!

I can't kill anything either, I'm such a wuss. So glad to hear that the pond snails can live in planted jars! And I'm happy for the MTS to stay in the tank, they're so cute and pointy.

Wow, I can't believe how addicted and obsessed I have become to both fish keeping and this website! Next tank is officially in the planning stage. Can't wait!

Proceed with extreme caution. Both tanks AND windowsill jars are very addicting, and have a bad(?) habit of multiplying rapidly. . . cute snail jar, btw ;)

My husband has agreed that I can have a 5 or 7.5 gal for a betta but that's it. He doesn't mind the snail jars though.

Also brought this funny little plant.
The shop assistant wasn't really sure what it was but gave it to me for really cheap because it was a bit small and scraggly. Anyone know exactly what it is? And it is ok to be planted straight into the substrate?
