10 gallon tank progress

Ok, so I got this tank Sunday night, And All I have done is taken it out of the box, and gotten the lights, filter, and lid working. There is still ALOT to do. Now its an empty, ugly tank, that desperatly needs a back ground

I am planning on getting a heater, background, and some decor by this weekend. I am thinking 10 pounds of black gravel mixed with 2 pounds of natural. After the tank cycles I'll get some nice real plants to go with the fake ones (I already have 2 fake) Please keep checking this thread because even if its boring now, I'll have some hopefully cool pics of it with decor and gravel, then, when Its cycled real plants, and after that, my favorite part, FISH!!!!!!!! lol! I'm thinking
5-6 neon tetras
2 male guppies
if I can fit 4-5 tiger barbs, but If not, I need some other stocking ideas to go with my guppies and neons. I was going to get zebra danios, but I guess the like alot of room soooo any way, thanks for reading and PLEASE COMMENT!!!!

I think the gravel will look nice! I would pass on the tiger barbs. How about some cory for the bottom. There are lots of cute ones to choose from.

You'd need sand for cories. Maybe 4 cherry barbs instead of the tiger barbs. Or some golden white clouds. That'd be pushing the stocking though. Maybe do a school of 6 neons and a school of 6 cherry barbs/clouds and leave out the guppies. Just a thought. I can't wait to see it all done!

you could always get 3 female guppies but then you should only have 1 male but by the time the female's and the male have been together for a couple of days then they will most likely be pregnant

thanks! ok, so instead of the tiger barbs i would do 3 black skirt tetras, or 3 phantom tetras or 1 dwarf gourimi. Someone else on this forum also reccommended some other neat stocking ideas!
1 golden killifish and some cories
A single dwarf cichlid like a ram, kribensis, apistogramma or nannacara along with a small school of tetras or rasboras
a small group of badis badis or scarlet badis
a small colony of dwarf shelldwellers like Neolamprologus brevis, Neolamprologus multifasciatus, or Lamprologus ocellatus
Some other fish that I like are honey gouramis, platies, red tailed sharks, mosquito rasboras

So if you can reccomend anything else that would be cool!

sorry it took so long, here are some updated photos... Al thats in there now is fake plants, a rock, gravel, a background, a filter, and a heater, and bulbs, still have much more work to do! Ok, so here are the pictures!

Please again ignore the poor quality and reflections! Thanks, tell me what you think so far!
