Planted 8 gallon

so today i began the task of cleaning out my 8 gallon, and getting rid of the algae that had over taken the tank. i decided a month or so ago that i wanted a planted tank, so today i bought gravel (which had fertilizer mixed in) and it is meant to be like flurite. i also bought some drift wood (which is going to have Java Moss tied to it) and after cleaning the tank with a toothbrush (which is destroyed :D) and adding the gravel it is nearly complete :D. tonight i am going to add some cuttings from my plants in from my 29 gallon, and then i will add and replace plants in a week or so when my lfs gets them in. i have some pics :D

Ill put the background on later (but im going to replace it with a plain black background) and ill post some pics later, with the plants in. :D

That's some cleanup job you've done there! It's looking great - can't wait to see it progress :D

thanks :D it looked a mess before i cleaned it, im hoping this time that i dont as bad an algae growth, it doesnt recieve any sunlight now that the blind near it is closed, and im hoping that by adding many plants and co2 that it wont grow so much :D

Sorry its taken so long for an update :( but here it is :D, i put the plants in 6 days ago and they are already growing well, im going to get some new plants whenever my lfs gets their monthly stock. im still not sure about the background, its rocks and plants right now :), it looks good with the plants but i still dont know if i should go with a black background or maybe possibly a moss background lol.

hehe thanks, im proud of it myself, must be my best tank now lol (still not the greatest tanks though :D). i just cant wait for the plants to and to get others.

sorry meatpuppet only re-read your post now im only know the name of one plant and that it the sword, its still small as when it was put in my 29 gallon it was attacked my my pleco's XD so for some reason i kept the one sword (that was destroyed) and put some other plants, then i saw that new leaves were growing so when this tank was cleaned i moved it into my 8g :D. the other plant im not sure of but it grows well even if the conditions are not great :D
