Neat! | Yeah it is fun to watch. The eel is called a rubber eel or Typhlonectes natans. He's a amphibian and you are right that he is blind, they go mainly by scent. There are two in the tank, the one in the video was the smaller male. The big girl wouldn't wake up. It does take time or the fish to get use to them. The new ember tetras will probably avoid them for at least a week. It took the SAE a month before he would go near them. The loaches where jumping on them from day three. It actually took the eels a while to get use to that, being blind and all. The friendly loaches would scare them. |
