my 55gal in order of pics. pike cichlid, Firemouth cichlid, ob peacock cichlid (sold to me as a kalidascope cichlid?), bichar and my Sailfin Pleco.

Nice fish! I want to get a Dinosaur/Senegal Birchir for my tank, but unfortunatley, it is only a 30G.

Could we have a full-tank shot?

i love my bichirs i actualy have 2 a male who is in the pic and a female who is much larger. here are the full tank shots and a couple more.

You should add something to the right side, as well as some more sand.

i would but normaly the bichir hang out on that side together and dont like as many obsticals. as far as the sand i have it balenced with the wood and shells so that my ph isnt too high for the bichirs. but thanks for the advice.

how many gallons are in your tank and can you make a list of all the inhabitants because i really like your fish. How many gallons does a bichir need?

A birchir needs like 50 Gallons minimum, unfortunatley. I want one so bad.

i dont suggest getting the same fish unless you are going to get a big tank. my fish are in a 55gal now but in about a month or two im getting a 100gal or so. then i will be upgrading again later (the 100 will then be an oddball tank lol and the 55 a small cichlid tank.

here are my fish and their grown lengths (est not exact)
zengu II (orenge pike cichlid) will get about 1 1/2-2 foot.
the Firemouth cichlid and ob peacock will both get about 9-13inch.
the Senegal Bichir are going to get about 12-14inch.
and i have 2 pleco, only the big sailfin was in the pic about 8 1/2- 9inch, they will get 24inches and bigger in some cases.

so with that info you wont be able too keep them in a 55gal their whole life. good luck hope it helps.

with a light colored sand your birchirs color can sometimes bleach out. its normal if it happens but dont worry. (happened to me, mine almost looked albino ).
