My dojo's in their favorite spot

My 2 gold dojo loaches always hang out between the heater and the glass.

It never comes on. I'm worried about when winter gets here when it will turn on.

In case anyone says anything, I know they like cool temperatures but they can live in warmer temperatures too, as long as they're not set at Discus levels. I've had these guys for almost 2 years, always kept them around the mid-70's and they've been excellent.

Also these pics remind me I need to remove my black background sheet and carefully wipe it. I really didn't notice those water stains until I took these shots and looked at them.

Dojo loaches do like to perch on things. Maybe if you offer them some tall plants to perch on, they would spend less time next to the heater.
What other fish are in the tank? If there are no tropical fish, you could just remove the heater.

Well I plan to add a pair of angels. Currently 3 austalian rainbows, 1 gourami, assorted cories and them. After the angels, maybe a few more rainbows, that's it.

I bought them not knowing they needed cooler temps. This was almost 2 years ago. I went to the fishstore in search of yo yo loaches, they didn't have any but they had dojo's. I got them THEN I found out they like cooler water and I would hate to get rid of them so I kept them. They seem happy and active in this water. If they didn't appear this way I'd have taken them back then.

Sometimes they lay between my tall Wisteria but the vast majority of the time they are between the heater.
