My Betta, Seldom

My betta. He's absolutely magnificient. Check out my aquarium for more pictures.

His name is Seldom, because he seldom messes with anyone who minds their own business.

And remember, seldom doesn't mean never.

I was fortunate enough to find him in a pet shop. The instant I saw him I knew he was the one.

I brought in a better camera today, so I'm going to try and take a cleaner picture.

This picture really doesn't do him justice.

He's lost some scales presumably from stress. To keep him from fighting with my new fantails, I put about five of them in at once- and it worked. I tried the same strategy because I wanted to keep a pair of Leilupies in the tank, but that didn't work so well so I had to get rid of them.

He has these light blue spines in his fins that glow brilliantly in the flourescent blue light. And when he flares, he's a complete half moon. Really, a beautiful fish.

No, not going to breed him. I'm just getting back into the hobby after ten or so years, so I want to keep it simple for the most part.
