IM BACK! what a day!

Well let me start of with the Rain Simulator idea.

Really shouldn't be that hard. Im thinking a few PVC pipes and connectors attached to a pump and screw a few holes. I know the salt water hobby guys use it. I tried looking for rain simulator on Google but couldn't find much, all I really wanted was a drawing/photo so I could get an Idea on where to start.So I searched for drip system used for gardening but its the same concept and this is what I found.



Should work great on a timer. It helps set the mood for breeding. My Oscars are about to mate so figured this would make it feel more natural for them, and see what happens. They say a simple water change helps but that can be a pain and a waste of time when I really dont need to do water changes that often.

As far as my build my water pump came in today. Went out to home depot and picked up a few things and got to work. I picked up some wood trim, hindges and double sided tape.

I have to re-adjust the 2 center doors tomorrow. But loving it so far.

Waiting for my lights to come in so I can start working on the top hood.Im going to try something different. For doors on the hood im going to see if I can put sliding door panels on the top so I can work on one side of the tank or the other.

Hello again :)

Today after coming home from a longs days work I sat infront of the tank and gazed away.. Then I started to think that it was missing something.... Plants!. After finding the few plants that I had laying around that the oscars destroyed and lost their base. I got to thinking and here is what I came up with.

I had some clear filter tubing left over and came up with this idea. This little project took no longer then 15 minutes or less

Line up the plants you will use in the order you want them and drill a hole smaller then the main root


Heat up a screw driver a bit ( PLEASE USE CAUTION )


Melt the pre-drilled holes just barely enough to plug the main root in


Flip it over to make sure the plants are in place (the hole will shrink and harden and hold the plant in place)


Fill the tube with your ground bedding.. in my case sand


Finally place it in the location you want and cover it up


Sit and enjoy..

Got a new air pump today YEY!

I wanted to turn the whole back ground into bubbles....After you put more then 5 of these together they are a pain to put up.. You put one side up and you get no air on the other side. So I got pissed off and just hooked it up to a PVC tube. Just like my plant idea. The tank is clearing up now so I didnt take photo maybe tomorrow.





Still had to adjust the tube so air was flowing evenly and not just on one side. But in the end it came out pretty good.

Sup Guys!

Well today I got something in the mail :) starting to feel like Christmas every week lol.

Its a wave light projector and has a build in speaker if you want to connect like an MP3/ Iphone.

What it does is gives the appearance of the motion of a waves.. its pretty relaxing. Im going to buy a cheap MP3 player and add a river stream sound file and put it on repeat :) it runs on a USB/AC adapter or 4AA batteries.

This is mostly for me so I can enjoy my fishes and relax and gaze away pretending im swimming with them lol.. As far as the fish they dont seam to mind it, it adds a little natural feel to it.


Pictures dont show how awesome this is, ill have to make a video. But you get the idea.
