Finally planted my 55gal

I got a 55g and stand for about 2 months ago and had a grand plan for planting it. unfortunately I didn't really have the money to do what I wanted so it has sat like this for a couple of months.

I was starting to get a little annoyed with it so I decided to forgo my grand plan and plant the tanks with some plants that I already had. It's just Cryptocoryne Wendtii, Cryptocoryne Balansae, and Java Fern windelov, although I may add one or two plants. I also want to make a background.

Looking much better!

Another small (and cheap) thing you can do to really make it stand out is to tape some black poster board onto the back. You would be surprised how much that helps, and can make it look like there is more depth than there really is.

I plan on making a background like the one on my 20g for it. Here is a pic of the 20 before I ripped all the plants out and put them in the 55g. I plan on doing something similar.

I ended up getting some giant hairgrass this weekend, as well as moving over all the inhabitants from my 20g. Here is a full tank shot.

Here is a little update on this tank. It's still not where I want it to be. I used the bulbs that came with the light fixture and I really didn't like the results. I added another 6700k light and it seems to be doing much better.
