yep yep ^_^...my husband and i were trying to come up with some scheme on what to do if the power went out...we have this mini generator..but it only plugs in to the ciggy outlet in our mini van, so we thought, if it goes out, we will run two 45 ft extension cords from the generator in the van into the house and leave the van on till the electricity comes back on...LOL ...the things we do for our fish....
I always feared power outages. I was lucky that my fish survived a 60 hours power outage. But now that I own Discus, I'm more worried than ever if ever power outages happen. *Gloom*
did you post pics of your Discus? i plan on purchasing a 46 gal penta tank in november and i planned on doing a species tank with angels, but i would love to do Discus too...
Not yet. I have yet to buy a new set of rechargeable batteries. Old ones-not working anymore.
3-4 Discus would fit in a 46 gallons tank. 55 gallons is even better as it would accommodate even your angels.:)
unfortunately, i have a limited amount of space to work with, and as i already have the cabinet/base/stand for a tank that size, and also i wont be able to afford a bigger one at the time...besides, being new to the hobby, i should probably start small?
Big ones are better. 15 gallons is the minimum but small tanks are very tricky in terms of water chemistry adjustments.
Always buy the biggest tank you can afford.
Not to mention your electric bills when tanks end up being very big(mostly more than 100 gallons).
