Aquascaping options

Hi all,

Recently got my shipment of driftwood for my edge, but i'm having lots of trouble deciding how to place the wood. If anyone has any ideas please help me with some suggestions.

This is all the wood that i recieved, it might be really hard to tell, but theres 18 pieces all branch-like.

This is just one big piece of wood. Took me 5 minutes to maneuver it so it could fit into the tank, took even longer to try and figure out how to get it out.

Two pieces going outward, looks a little like roots, but im not sure how to cover up the middle. A tiger ltous would probably be there to hide it.

Two pieces, one down, the other up. Not sure how I feel about this one

3 pieces, this was closest to what I originally envisioned, has some kind of organized chaos to it, but maybe too busy?

2 pieces, thought this was nice and simple.

3pieces, same as previous one except with a piece in the back right corner.


Any suggestions or votes to any of the setups I attempted would be awesome. I'm going to try and think of some more, but my artistic vision is limited.

And this one is probably the last one im gonna try. This is surprisingly exhausting. Fluval Edge is a great looking tank, but when it comes to aquascaping, stick with the open top stuff.

Final one looks good. Once the plants are grown in they'll hide a lot of the wood anyway. Some moss growing over those sticks would look great too

I really like my last one as well but the bottom left seems a little empty?

I added a piece to the bottom left, what do you think? I will need to trim the base of the new stick though. Sorry if the pic is hard to see, its nearly impossible to wipe the condensation off after the wood is in.

I really like the third one. It looks like a natural occurance - kind of like the wood fell into the water and not "placed"
