This tank is home to:

13 Betta females:
2 silver veiltails
2 red veiltails
2 red crowntails
2 blue crowntails
2 blue veiltails
2 butterfly veiltails
1 butterfly crowntail (I'll get a second when I can find one)

1 Teal Betta veiltail male (Yea, I did that)

2 Fire Eels (three inches)
2 Spiney Eels (two inches)
2 Albino Dojo Loaches

1 Lime Pleco
1 Tiger Pleco
1 Candystripe Pleco

1 Paddletail Newt


The loaches and the plecos will move to my 125 after the plants in it have had a few weeks to root well. Have any of you had a lot of luck with Aquabid? I'm looking at buying some rarer colors of females that way, but I'm not comfortable with the idea just yet. I can only get reds, blues, and combinations of in females where I live. I would like some yellows, greens, etc. Pictures incoming.

They are all awesome and your tank looks great. That Lime Pleco is too cool for words, I never saw anything like that. How big do they get? Love your driftwood too, such cool pieces you have in there.

How are eels and live plants? My nephew keeps begging me to get him an eel but he only has a 10 gallon and a few plants. Do they get real big? Will they kill the plants by uprooting them??

Mine don't uproot the plants at all. They DO however, swim up into my filter- coming and going as they please. They're pretty neat. Mine will pop their heads out of the water to eat from my hand. Eventually I'm going to have to take them back to my LPS and trade them in for smaller ones.

If you plan on keeping them, I've heard that you should have a 55g long for when they get larger. I've seem them three feet and longer.

Fire Eels, that is. I read that my spineys will only get to be about 6 inches long. I'm planning on picking up two Tire Track Eels as well, but at my local shops I've only been able to get them in larger sizes. I like to get them really small so I can keep them a few months before having to find them another home.

My 125 is a corner pentagon. Very tall, not very wide.

Yea, the plecos are really amazing. The one in the picture is about an inch and a half long. Since I overstock, I try to keep the fish very small. My tiger is nearly 2.5 inches, so I'm going to have to re-home him soon.

The size depends on the breed. I've seen a Lime at about 8 inches. They're really, really hard to find in a 1 inch size. I know the tiger will grow up to be at least 16 inches. The Candystripe will stay roughly 2 inches.

I had a Trinidad, Albino, Red Vampire, Snowball, and Gold Nugget, but they died in about a week after I scrubbed my filter out. It was a n00by mistake. My impeller was jammed full of crap, and I cleaned the whole fixture thinking I could keep up with water changes and use Ammo-lock additives. First, and last time I made that mistake. I've got seeded bio balls to use for the next time I have to scrub the filter. The plecos I lost that week added up to about $160.

OUCH! I really like the Lime Pleco, I also fell in love with the Gold Nugget Pleco. I have not seen either of those around here. The only one I saw recently was a rubber nose pleco. I am going to ask more questions of the LFS about Lime Pleco's. Where are you from?

I can't even find any listings for Lime Pleco's here. I am checking with a few online shopping spots. Not that I would order but I just want to get a feel for how 'available" they are or are not.

Where do you live? I'll talk to a couple of the store owners I know and see if they're willing to ship. I got that one at 1", and he cost me 65$.
