The size depends on the breed. I've seen a Lime at about 8 inches. They're really, really hard to find in a 1 inch size. I know the tiger will grow up to be at least 16 inches. The Candystripe will stay roughly 2 inches.
I had a Trinidad, Albino, Red Vampire, Snowball, and Gold Nugget, but they died in about a week after I scrubbed my filter out. It was a n00by mistake. My impeller was jammed full of crap, and I cleaned the whole fixture thinking I could keep up with water changes and use Ammo-lock additives. First, and last time I made that mistake. I've got seeded bio balls to use for the next time I have to scrub the filter. The plecos I lost that week added up to about $160. |
OUCH! I really like the Lime Pleco, I also fell in love with the Gold Nugget Pleco. I have not seen either of those around here. The only one I saw recently was a rubber nose pleco. I am going to ask more questions of the LFS about Lime Pleco's. Where are you from?
