So I've been busy again. Did a final rescape to balance out things visually on both sides and put in an old half log that actually...looks quite decent in there. There are now two new plants in this tank. I also cut out a portion of a large java mat and brought it over to this 80 gallon tank.
The final fish has gone into the mix. I wanted badly to try a Peacock Eel as the one centerpiece fish. Went to pet-smart to get some frozen blood worms and brine, and ended up peeking at the peacocks they had in stock.
This guy had to come home:
There were probably 4-5 of them in the tank. This one though was the largest and he was out and about even though people were near by. I like what I saw and so he came home. I thought he might hide for a few days. I've done some reading and that is usually what happens hence the picture before the release.
Nope...he didn't hide. Didn't take long for him to start exploring his new home:
I've also removed the second light that was on the tank. THe strange red glow it gave bugged me and the light system itself was acting up. So now I use one light with the good bulb. Also I use the incandescent as a dimmer to transition them from light to no light.
All in all the Rasbora seem happy. They are attempting to breed again. I caught a few of them courting and then doing the belly dance thing under the long tapering Hygro Willow. The loaches have settled in and are now digging for the black worms that have dug themselves into the substrate. Blue gill is learning to avoid the area of current. The peacock so far is keep to explore and has discovered the half log.
I'm still convinced that some of the "yoyo" I brought home are not Yoyo and are not any of the Loaches they have listed on any of their tanks. Time will tell though.
