Woah, it's amazing what a little bit of change in lighting can do - looks fantastic! How's ol' Bluegill holding up with all of these changes?

It is. I'm so happy to get this tank back and I have a second 20 gallon long to boot. I have no plans for the second one except to have it on hand in case I need to set up a third tank for some random fish related emergency.

Bluegill seems to be doing fine. He now explores his tank nearly all day long, content with swimming around enjoying the space. He now comes up for food when I feed him (used to be he'd ignore the food half the time) and he's pooping all right too.

It's official! Bluegill is happy in his new home! I can't WAIT to see how huge his nests get now, lol!!! Crazy fishy. . . :)

Yay for regular poops! Haha. This is something only fish people would understand.

He does look happy in his new home. That riccia really seems to do the trick. I'm still interested in some of it when you want to give some away.

Yes, I can tell. He's more active, more interactive with people when they come up and see him, and definitely eats more too. The refusing to eat half the time worried me so much when he was in his smaller tank.

I've got new growth coming in on the java/riccia/Water Sprite matt. Once that riccia bushes up nicely I can cut it out for you and would give you a good chunk to work with. Shouldn't take long since all the plants are taking off.

Wow so quite a bit of updates. It's been a really rough past week going into the next one.

The big tank's Aquaclear 70 filter fiinally died. The motor decided it doesn't want to live anymore. This has put my tank down to just the Aquaclear 110 and I'm not too happy about it. Water quality is suffering so I'm doing 30 gallon water changes twice a week to compensate.

That's the bad news. The good news is that I'm in contact with someone and am going to be doing an exchange for a Canister Filter. Hopefully if all goes well the Filter will be here within the week and will help boost back up better water quality.

For the 20 gallon tank things are still rough. The top I got back, well the old bulb decided it didn't want to live anymore either. That was a week ago and I put the other lights I had on it for now. Also Blue-Gill decided he was bored and ripped his top fin half off. He's now flaring hard at his reflection and part of his back fin is getting holes/tears in it. I've now got a bottle of Bettafix and will be dosing the tank with that to help him heal up. To help with the whole "I'm not stimulated enough while you are away" my family ended up purchasing 5 harlequin rasboras. I finally found them in stock somewhere. Also I finally have a new bulb for the top but I have a feeling the starter will need to be swapped next.

Hopefully the betta's fins will start to mend over the next few days. In the meantime enjoy an update video and picture of the 20 gallon.

That stinks that your AQ70 died. Kinda makes me worried for mine. I've had one running for 7 years now. But it's great that you're getting a canister! Are you going to try to get rid of the AQ110 eventually?

Those harlequins look great with Blue-Gill! I hope he doesn't have any more fin-biting episodes.
