Would Airstones Harm My Fish?

Hi All I Am Wondering If Adding Airstones To The Aquarium Would Do Any Harm To The Fish I Have?
I Am Using An Internal Bio Filter But Yet My Guppies Seem To Be Spending A Lot Of Time At The Top Of The Tank As If They Are Looking For Air.
I Was Possibly Thinking Of Gettin Airstone Ornaments To Jazz Up The Tank A Little But Would This Harm The Fish?

Guppies tend to dwell more towards the mid to top section of a fish tank. They'll be up near the surface either way.
Chuck in a couple of airstones. They can't harm your fish. What size is your tank btw? and how many guppies you have in there?

Airstones don't really add O2 to the water in any measurable quantity, hence the bubbles rising clear to the surface to pop and not disappearing midway up. They are pretty much for looks but if you like the look they certainly won't hurt your fish.

Thank So Much For The Info. I Have A 4ft Tank. Unsure Of Gallons/Litres
There Is A Good Sized Community Of Guppies. Cant Actually Coun Them All.

Fantastic What you might want to do is introduce a couple of live, hardy plants if you haven't already. Plants might give off more oxygen to the fish than an airstone would, continuing on from "OscarLoverJim" statment. Couple of Java Fern/Vallisneria/Amazon swords???

That is, only if the fish really seem to be choking for air, and are nowhere else but at the top. Otherwise, it may just seem like they're always gasping for air because there are so many of them maybe?
