white specks

So I thought ive been growing algae....
I started wipping down the front glass to keep that pane clear, but then I noticed these were white specks. They appear fuzzy and move with the water's current...thoughts?

If they are moving in the water current, with the water flow I mean, they are likely particulate matter. Might be air bubbles, but from the photo I wouldn't think so.

You don't think water out of the tub faucet wouldn't be so different than water from the sink faucet? The 75 gal gets water from the tub and the 5.5 get water from the sink. It's easier to use the bucket in the tub for the 75 gal.

Particulate matter is suspended "stuff" that floats in water. It can be any number of things from fine soil/sand, bits of vegetation, waste, sediment, etc. If it is coming in the source water (out of the tap), it should be harmless. The filter should remove it.

Do you have a filter of some sort on the sink faucet that might be filtering this out?

No. Not on the sink faucet. We have a seperate pitcher for that.
Im getting a bristlenose in a few days. Maybe he'll find it nummy.

Depends what it is, but I doubt it. If you run a glass of water from the sink is it crystal clear or does it have sediment? And same for the tub.

Both appeared to be crystal clear and not having anything but teenie tiny bubbles swirling around the surface. When there was surface movement they immediately disappeared.

Disappeared, in the tank? Then these are air bubbles.

no. disappeared in the cup. I got a cup full of the sink water and the tub water. My bad.
