I can't believe I'm going here, but as you can see... I own Bettas, a few of them. Tank size for bettas isn't as much of a concern as water quality. I know many people who keep bettas in tanks less than 5g. Personally I would never put a Betta fish in a tank over 5g, with my experience and those of local breeders. Size is up to the owner and how much work they wish to do and the amount of room a betta is comfortable with. My bettas share a divided 10g, 5g and a 2.65g single. I have used 1.5g for months with great sucess. I only suggested a 1g as some people do use them for Bettas. The OP has said they purchased it for Bettas but felt a larger home was suitable for his fish.
And the seahorse idea was a joke ;)
