What is a suitable use for a 1g aquarium?

Awhile back I drunk-bought a 1g that came with a small air pump and undergravel filter, and I got a betta...(the dangers of having a pub right beside a pet store...). I put some plants in it and got a heater for it as well, but after a week I concluded that it was not a suitable environment for the betta and so I put him in my other tank. So now this stupid tiny fish tank is sitting on my desk with nothing in it. Is there any use for it, or should I just toss it?

I had thought about shrimp... They give me the creeps a bit but i would consider it if there are no other fish that could do well in there.

Shrimp give me the creeps, too, they're not allowed in the dorms. :(

I bought this EXACT set up not long ago as a hospital tank and soon found it to be unfitting. Therefore, if you're a breeder like me, it's great as a fry tank! The undergravel filter has nothing "filter" about it, it sucks. The cycling process could never complete because you constantly have to change out all of the water, i noticed a very strong fishy smell very quickly, due to ammonia spikes. I also bought a mini heater for this, but tore it down and just put the fry in the main tank (who thank god are big enough now.) The other day I purchased Lee's UG filter, 1 gallon that has a plant attached to it and i think an airstone and it comes with disposable carbon cartridges that are really cheap at the lfs, so once i get this new filter, ill replace that in the 1 gal and have it set up again.

But yes I recommend Lees UG filter (7$ on amazon) and a 1 gallon would be great for fry and/or shrimp. Or snails even!

Also, maybe some glofish? i know when I had glofish they were sensitive to the water changes in my main tank and didnt last long. But with the Lees filter water changes are less frequent, so maybe you can get the confetti gravel that i have (2lb bag at walmart, ~1.88$) and a glow in the dark plant, some glow in the dark markers and maybe a tiny "party bulb" (if yours comes with a hood and light) and maybe make it a tiny glofish rave tank? I might steal my own idea, thinking about it :)
