What are the size of these tanks?

I bought both of these today. Came with everything needed to start up including under gravel filters. The guy was kind enough to deliver and bring them into my house for me, said if theres any issues to call him and he will return my money (I can tell when someones not being sincere...he was very sincere). Said both were 35 gals is what he was told when he bought them. They both held water until Christmas but stopped using them when he upgraded. One sits on top the other on the buttom of the the stand. I paid $160 for both tanks, accessories and gas money to deliver as he was in a different city.

Tank 1 is 36L by 20H by 12.5W (It doesnt actually hit 20 inches in the height, it sits between 19 3/4 and 20 inches, not sure how that measurement is typed out)

Tank 2 is 36L by 19H by 12.5W (same thing with the 19 inches here...its between 18 3/4 and 19 inches for the Height)

I was looking to upgrade even just a bit from my 29 gal Cichlid tank (yes I realize its still to small for them but this will do for a while) and 20 gallon tetra tank

I would say those are close to 35g.

On that link the larger one appears to be a 30 gallon breeder (which is still much better then the 29 gallon standard tank I have now for the cichlids). But on another website it says my tank is a 39 gal or close to.

Keep in mind there is a difference between Imperial Gallon and US Gallon. I believe the linked chart is US gallons.

Well whats the difference? I always thought it was in US gallons. I go by US gallon. So if someone says my tanks are 38gals...I assume US gallons.

I'm not sure of the US/Imp difference, but I have a tank that is 36 by 18 by 12 and it was sold as a 33 US gallon. Which is why I initially said yours may well be 35g, since it is an inch higher and half an inch deeper. Close anyway.
