What kind of salt to get?

Hi there.

If any of my fish come down with ich I treat them with both meds and salt. (Well, the Mollies and Platys at least.) Buuuut I'm running out of salt and I'm not sure of what kind I should buy.

I"ve been using Nutrafin's Aquarium Salt, the kind for freshwater fish. Should I be using Marine salt instead? FYI I don't run a permanantly brackish tank as of yet. Dun dun dun....

Anyways... What kind should I be using? Or does it matter in this application?

marine salt is the wrong kind. you want aquarium salt. i usually buy the API aquarium salt

Table salt works just fine.

I've read multiple sources that said you can use any table salt-
that the level of iodine is too low to affect the fish.

Personally, however, I'd just buy some kosher salt/rock salt.
Super cheap, and iodine free.
(then again, where I live the aquarium salt is super cheap too... so meh.)
