what fish to add....?

ok so, I have a 37 gallon fresh water aquarium that I am in the middle of cycling.... I want to make it a planted tank, and have always liked ciclids because they are more aggressive, and fun to feed... But the LPS said that ciclids will uproot my plants. Does anyone have any suggestions on pretty aggressive fish that do well in planted tanks? I just want some fish that will be fun to have, not just pretty to look at.[/list]

Which cichlids are you planning to keep? Plenty can uproot plants. The exceptions are discus, angelfish, keyholes, festivums, blue rams, Bolivian rams and apistogrammas. Cichlids have plenty of personalities so do not expect one to be very aggressive or aggressive to your expectations. For a tank that size, I'd recommend rams or apistos with pencilfish, tetras, cories, otos and small species of plecos for tankmates.

I would suggest rams as well. My buddy has a planted tank with a few rams and discus'ses(plural? :D ) They leave the plants alone. He also has a couple of cool looking checkerboard cichlids. A couple of rams, perhaps a few Congo tetras, and some cories and you should be set.
