Agreed. I run an Aquaclear 70 plus a biowheel 200 on my 55 gal, but it has large goldfish in it. For a normal setup (not goldfish as they are very messy) just a 70 will do.

Was also wondering if you guys knew if i would be able to but a 3 pk 50 foam or 70 foam insert in instead of just 1 110 foam insert. I think it would be cool if i could modify it.

Yes, my tank is very OCed. My goldfish dominate :D (and two small koi's shhhh.. :P )

Yeah, two sponges from an AC70 side by side is the same length as the AC110 sponge but it's not a thick. You can get them cheap off ebay and BigAls has their own house brand that works perfect and is like 1/4 of the price. I am using their brand in my AC70 and it's just as good as the AC brand.

Holy smokes! You might want to get two filters. That is some bio-load you have on your tank. One overly large filter might produce too strong a current. When I overfilter I prefer getting more filters rather than larger ones.

Those koi are soon going to need a pond. You can overwinter them in the tank, but do you have any plans to find a pond for them?

Nope, not yet. No plans for these guys.

They are around 5" in length.

Would you recommend two 50 AC's? or 70 AC's?
I've got an ancient 20 AC laying around would that work with a 110?
