What Filter??

Hey guys, I think my filter is about to crap out on me. I have tried to clean it a few times but it still sounds like its chewing up gravel. Very loud an annoying. So, that being said I am going to buy a new one, but unsure what the best one to get would be. Heres where you all come in. Heres what I have:

75 Gal
about 18 fish
lots of plants w/ wood and rock

I was looking at either Fluval 405, Marineland 350 or C-360

Any other suggestions are appreciated. I would like to stay around or under the $150ish mark if possible.

I'm running a Cascade 1000 from Penn-Plax on my 55g. It's rated for 100g and is super quiet and efficient. I love it. If the 25 extra gallons there don't do it for you, you could go on to the Cascade 1200. I only paid $80 for mine so a little upgrade would still be in your budget.

Well I ended up getting a Fluval 405 off ebay for$145 shipped. I may have went a little bit big for the tank, but i guess it never hurts to overfilter. It just creates a little bit much of a current if not cut back some. I am currently running it at about half flow and that seems to be working quite well. The only thing is that I was so used to hearing the water flowing from the HOB filter and now there is nothing but silence. I keep checking on it thinking its not running, but other than that I am happy with it. Although its only been runing for a few hours.

Fluvals have a good reputation. To further reduce flow, aim it against an end wall. All of the fish you list prefer minimal water flow, the less the better; they are forest fish that naturally occur in slow-flowing streams, ponds and flooded forest. Fighting a current adds to their stress, which means less healthy.
