I would not put glassfish in a community. You should check their requirements. IMO, glassfish can be aggressive for bettas.
I'd change them with harlequin rasboras.
Get otos only when your tank is established at around 3 months. Better to be safe than sorry.
Oops yes, I meant 0 ammonia...my glassfish don't actually do anything except stay together and not swim around, perhaps I will exchange them for something else if I see them going after my betta, after all he's been around for a year and a half!
Oh yes...he is a trooper he started out in a little tank (one gallon-you know the cheap kind with the undergravel filters) and he didn't do much so I moved him to an Eclipse 5 gallon and added a female and he liked that better but my parents said I could have their old 20 gallon so the two of them started cycling my tank for me and he loves all the space! He's changed colors first he was red with white fins then red with red fins and now the fins are turning blue...I LOVE my betta!
So I spoke too soon...I lost 2 Glassfish today so I'm going to take them and the two remaining back to the store since they're still on their guarantee and wait another week or two before adding anything else!
