| | A way to save money for Penguin owners
Hi again.
I have been reading the forums here for a couple of weeks now and 1 common theme i see in the freshwater forums is that most filter inserts are too expensive.
I have a way to save a few bucks for those not in the "know" on this.
I have a penguin 150 biowheel and a tetra whisper 40 running in tandem on my 30 gallon setup. I was considering a DIY solution for cartridge replacement but found a solution at my local walmart. Both the whisper and the penguin take the same size raplacement carts. Tetra makes a cart IDENTICAL to the one penguin sells for its filters. The money saving part of this is they sell them in 3 packs for $6 approx. :)
I currently run 1 filter in the whisper and 2 in the penguin. this way I can rotate through thee and not loose my biofilter :)
Hope this helps save a few bucks :)
