a friend of mine went out of town and accidentally cut power to his tank for 2 weeks. he had an automatic feeder . no food, filter, light for 2 weeks. they were fine with several water changes. those vacation things would probably do more harm than good to your water, since you wont be there to change water.
Well, got back from our first trip on Thursday and I am happy to report all my fish are alive and healthy. We leave for our next trip Thursday coming, and return Monday, so it will only be one extra day and I'm not anticipating any problems.
