Transferring fish, not snails

I was dumb and put a new anachris plant in my tank that's temporarily holding my 5 guppies without throughly disinfecting for snails. The guppies should be moving to a new 29 gallon in about a week and I don't need hitchhikers. How do I go about switching over the guppies without having a snail or snail egg tag along (assuming they can do that)? The plant I will actually disinfect this time before it moves.

Our two Albino Clawed frogs will be going in the Guppy tank after they move out. Hope they eat em.

You should have no problems with snails by just moing fish. The plant may pose another problem. Make sure to de-snail it before placing it in the new tank.

So, I've got to disinfect a tank decoration too and I'm reading that you can use potassium permanganate. Is it safe for fish and inverts (after rinsing the disinfected item a lot) and where can you get it from?
