Is this tank still overstocked??

If someone could tell me: I have a 30 gallon long tank (rectangular) with lots of driftwood and dense plantation. Pics are on my aquarium log. I have a JBL cristalprofi i80 filter with a clearmec and a torumin cartridge.
I have 5 Golden rams,5 German blue rams, 9 Black Neon Tetra and 2 Discus.

i would also appreciate any advice,information etc about these fish and would like to know how to best make them show their colors.

From what ive read on this forum id say yes..but ill let the experts chime in as to why.... the rams i think there are to many for this size tank, not enough room for breeding territorys and the Discus will get to large in this tank. good luck.

that many rams will clobber each other :\ you could get away with a single pair, MAYBE 2 males but i would still expect some scuffling.

Discus will get too big, imho.

What about if i remove 2 of the Rams?

Unfortunaly i dont have the answers ,, i wish i did.. all i can say is this..Start reading up on the fish you wish to have in your tank, research what they need as far as space, tank mates and minimin tank requirments.. then ask these folks here if you dont understand somthing and do your self a favor and actuallly listen to their advise.. they know what they are talking about. Rams i have read say a pair.. unless you have a 4 foot long tank then you can possibly have more. Ten unsexed fish in your tank when they start to get to breeding age will possibly kill other tank mates. When we stock a tank we do not look how many can fit while young.. they are stocked for the adult size for longevity in the tank home you choose. So while small they may not present problems yet, but as they grow you find more aggression in your tank due to so many fish in there.. good luck. and please correct me if i am wrong on any this , i do not want to stear a newbie in the wrong direction due i too am still learning myself.:)

Remove the Discus and the rams, the tank is simply too small to keep them all.
Even once a pair of rams forms, they should be kept in a 40g really as they need the space.

Mixing fish from the same genus ie Golden and Blue rams usually leads to aggression problems unless you have a large tank with plenty of room for territory.

Plus Discus should be in groups of 5 or more. They also need a minimum of a 75g tank and have to be kept with other slow, sedate fish.

i asked this question because i have red somewhere that on can keep 20 rams in a 20 gallon as long as there are plenty of places to hide.

DISREGARD ALL INFORMATION from the site you got that from.

You keep a PAIR only in a 20g tank!

Whoever said that is not looking after the fish at all!, they will be dead quick!

Thanks for all the replies guys i really appreciate it. i know removed 5 of my rams and now still have 5 golden rams left.i will remove 1 more as the rest have already formed pairs i will also remove the Discus.
