Tank changed

Since the last time I posted I had like 3 or 4 fish and deciding they would be well suited else where I took them back now I am in the spot for new fish in my ten gallon. All I have right now is amano shrimp, and a tiger nerite snail. My parameters are perfect 0 nitrites 0 ammonia and 0 nitrates. pH 7.2 Soft-Moderately hard water 78F Aqueon Quietflow 10 100gph. Here is my tank would love suggestions on fish or plants or just about anything.

This tank is going to hopefully fill out nice in the next month.

That is looking very nice. Yes, the plants will settle and spread.

As for fish, I will only point you in some general directions. We have fish profiles, second tab from the left in the blue bar across the top. Have a look under the Cyprinids, there are a number of small (dwarf) and slightly larger species that would work. From the characins, some of the pencilfish species; Ember Tetra. From catfish, one of the dwarf species of cory; a Whiptail Catfish. The dwarf species of rainbowfish under the Atherinids.

Thanks Byron. It is going to be hard picking between tetras, rasboras, pencilfish, dwarf cories, and bettas.

One other suggestion,now that I can see the surface better--you need some floating plants of more substance than just the Vallisneria leaves. All the fish previously referenced appreciate a roof over them, they will be more colourful, more active, in better health. Water Sprite is my favourite, but others include Dwarf Watter Lettuce, Salvinia, Brazilian Pennywort floating, Amazon Frogbit. Some of these shaded and are thus in our profiles.

Ya I did Water Sprite once and that didn't work just got too big every three weeks I would be filling 2.5 gallon buckets up with it and throwing it away. maybe Duckweed but I need light to still seep through for my plants.

I appreciate what you're saying, but the fish must come first. And those suitable for this tank need floating plants. Light has a considerable effect on fish stress and behaviour, plus colouration.

Duckweed does not fill the bill on this. I have Water Sprite in all my tanks. Each week at the water change I remove some of the daughter plants and toss out one or more of the parent plants. This way I have a good cover but light gets through. As in the photo attached which is my present 29g.

I do put the fish first but when I had the Water Sprite in their it was almost like there was no light. I just want a little light. When I had Water Sprite the main reason I took it out were the stems were going to the ground. Is water lettuce a good choice? Btw nice looking tank.
