I actually got the first one working timer and all this morning. All night unplugged and battery out of it dried out I guess. The good thing its working now! The one not so worried about as it was a cheap one like $3

well looking on the bright side,you didn't get an electric shock !
and if it only cost 3 bucks.......(my little bit of American there ) then its a win win

My favorite was when I was doing a water change and I was using a large tote and a powerhead. I had the powerhead in the tote with hose going into the tank. I would bring buckets in from the kitchen and dump in the tote. That way I didn't have to pour gently, I could dump and run. So...I get the tank filled, it's a 75g and I decide to take a breather before cleaning up. I'm sitting at the computer checking out the aquarium sites for probably 15 minutes or so. I notice in the background the sound of running water. I go into the fish room to see what's up and realize that leaving the hose in the tank allowed the fresh tank water to back siphon, fill the tote, and then overflow the tote to the tune of about 25g of water

What's worse then that, I did it again the next water change

When I did a WC, the hose came out of the bucket, and spilled water all over for a couple seconds till I could grab it and put it back in bucket. Got a towel to pick it up, didn't think about the water under the stand. One day, my husband walks by and sees the laminate/wood floor is warped right in front of the stand. Ooops! Well, it's not that noticable, I say. Right.

All good reasons to use a hose and ditch the buckets lol. Hose drains and hose fills. My carpet says so much drier now that I use a hose.

Ok this is totally not fish related.... but if it makes you guys feel any better. My daughter, my first is now 25. 24.75 years ago...lol, yes a very new mom, I was trying to keep it together.... sheesh could we at least get out of the house today...?
Anyway in an effort to get something done, I ran the water, loaded the dishes in the sink, warmed up the baby's bottle and took her outside for a full half hour to feed her out on the lawn chair.....

These represent the drips.... the entire kitchen and hall was covered in water, and so was the basement floor....!!!!! OMG
I had the baby down for it's nap, dishes done and ALL the water mopped up before her Dad came home. Don't think he ever knew what I had done.

Come to think of it I did it a second time a week or so later....

I kept thinking .... I'm responsible for this little life. !! it really did a number on my confidence.

When you're watching/caring for a baby, all sorts of things can get forgotten. Okay, one more from me. In my neighborhood, someone had an indoor pond. Petsitter was told turn valve on, to refill evaporated water. The person did such, and forgot about it completely, until they came the next day. The entire living room was flooded. Assuming the home owners or the petsitter had insurance.
