So i bought a 75 gallon tank, stand, light, emperor 400 filter, heater, various aquarium decor for 100 bucks today. (no lid) :D
Now the problems... The filter doesnt work so i just ordered a aquaclear 110 from amazon, i am trying to figure out the a good cheap fix on the lid, the stand needs to be stained, and the tank itself has a custom background... It had tan gravel glued to it with what looks like silicon glue. Thyis wouldnt be a problem and would be pretty sweet if it wasnt falling off. It still doesnt look bad, it just has area's where is it clear and some that are white (from the silicon) and probably would be easily enough hidden with clever placement of decor.
Now for the questions:
The aquaclear 110 should be more then enough filtration for this tank if i make it a Severum
centered community tank for now? (planning on getting everything small and eventually adding a canister filter)
What would be a cheap way to get a new lid? I looked online and saw glass covers for $40. Would that probably be the best solution or is there a DIY solution?
While i dont mind the gravel and silicon being glued to the back of the tank is there an non painstakingly way to remove it without scratching the glass? As i would prefer a basic black background.
