Can't wait for it to fill in. 24 hour test has Ammonia at 0 ppm so the combination of plants and Stability look to be working. I wanted to just do the plants, but since everything is low light which means not that fast growing I didn't want to chance it so I combined it with Stability.

Your 10 HRs look like they have an ocean to live in!! I love that they have so much space! This tank is incredible. Drool....

Your tank is gorgeous, Geomancer! Ever since I learned that vals don't do well in soft water, I've been looking for something else to replace them in one of my future setups. What is that plant with blade-like leaves in the back of your tank? You have three of them over on the right side just behind the driftwood.

There are actually 10 in total in the tank, 5 on the left back, and 5 on the right back.

They are Sagittaria platyphylla, and was sold under the name Chilensis but also goes by the name Broad Leaf Sagittaria. Might be the full size version of Dwarf Sagittaria, but I'm no plant expert. They are suppose to get only 12" tall which isn't too bad really, smaller than Vals.

Along the left wall, behind the crypt, is Cryptocoryne spiralis which is also a blade like, but more slender. They get taller at about 16" max.

Water parameters are still perfect, looks like the plants+stability did the trick (probably more the plants than stability but still).

Added 6 Pepper Cory to the tank today. What a difference a large tank makes! These guys are very enjoyable to watch schooling and crusing the entire tank. They are much better at schooling than the Rasboras! They are also quite a bit more active than the Bronze Cory I have in my smaller tanks. I could only picture one ... they were zooming around way too much.



Apparently bigger is better =)

Also, as a side note ... I think I have a couple female Rasboras ... they look awfuly gravid ... already

Geomancer your tanks looks GREAT! I have always wanted a tank that size. One of these days I am going to clean out my basement and build a room down there for a fish room and get a tank that size (Well at least thats a dream of mine. May never happen.).

Finally found some Diamond Tetras! I've been looking everywhere for them, thought I was going to be forced to buy them online with the murderous $35 shipping fee. I was at a local pet store that has a medium sized fish section and saw they had a single, lone, Diamond in a tank. The owner was there and I asked if he was getting any more, he said he'd look on his next trip, and yesterday got the call that he got 20 more in so I bought 10.

He jacked the price up by $1/fish which I didn't appreciate but $10 is still better than the $35 for online, and I might have better luck with returns if something crops ups (disease). It's things like that though that make me dislike local stores, taking advantage of a near 'guaranteed' sale to raise the price.

They're all adults, makes me wonder if they were wild caught, and they sure are a large Tetra. They were very active in the tank last night, hopefully it's just due to the new surroundings and being hungry, they need to calm down before I get the Angels . I would have preferred juveniles so I can get most of the 5 year life span out of them, but oh well, I'm just glad I found some. They may not be all that old, but of course you can never tell.

They also are pretty poor schoolers . They are spread out all over the tank, probably in wonder since they've not doubt spent a few weeks at a minimum in bags and tiny overloaded store tanks.

Oooh! Nice! I've fallen in love with the Diamonds, too, and am seriously considering adding them to my tank. I'm glad you found them locally - but yeah. . .it WAS pretty crappy of him to jack the price up on you. With a tank like yours, I would have been seriously tempted to buy all 20! lol! I'd love to see pictures of these guys once they're all settled in and gorgeous! Good luck with them. . . great addition to a beautiful tank!
