Snail Problem

I have a 55g with 1 Jack Dempsey 5in and 1 pleco 3in. The tank has been running for about 4 months, just today i was looking at my canister filter which is see through plastic and i notcied little snails all over the filter sleeve. I would like to know how i get rid of them safely or even keeping them under control because i have not seen 1 in my tank yet and i want to keep them out of my tank and under control while there aren't as many. Any advice will be appreciated?

Small snails are very beneficial in an aquarium; they eat all sorts of stuff nothing else will touch. If they increase, it means they have food; overfeeding contributes to this.

If im not mistaken, your Jack Dempsey will snack on those snails if they are small enough. It is likely you havent seen any in your tank because they have been getting eaten. Snails usually start in your tank and then get into your filter. not from the filter to the tank.
