I have some Ruby Peacock fry I need gone. I need the tank for shrimp LOL. I have been trying to sell local P/U but no takers so it looks like I may have to ship. Shipping 3-4 I think I can handle but I have had interest is someone taking all 15 1.25 in fry. How big of a bag and how much water to ship in?

Times I have shipped fish, always used this method and no deaths so far out of well over a hundred fish shipped.

You would need heat packs NO QUESTIONS asked if you have snow on the ground or a temperature of less than 70F.

Great article Taz but my major concern is how many to pack in a given volume of water.

How far are they shipping?

Dont know Just trying to be set up and ready should the need present itself.

If they are not travelling a long way, then with a large enough bag, all of them will be fine.

If they are traveling a long distance, then I would do 2-3 baggies.

Last month, I shipped 20 fry from my home near Montreal, Canada to southern California. I had them in 4 bags of 5 with bag buddies. It was 2 day guaranteed delivery.

Longer distance, I would recommend, not feeding them for 48 hours. Less they are fed, less waste and chance to create toxic conditions in the baggies.

Bear in mind as well, shipping can be quite expensive to you before you send them...this time of year it is essential to use heat packs to pretty much anywhere. Factor the cost of supplies into the shipping cost.

Have you tried selling them to your LFS?

Yea I have. The chains like Petco have contracts with their suppliers and cant buy privately and the independents dont have much call for Africans.
