I have about a pound of small shark teeth, (about a quarter inch or smaller),that I picked up on a beach about 30 years ago.I was brain storming about what to do new to my 35 hex and thought of using the teeth for an addition to my gravel to darken it up a bit.The teeth are black because they are fossilized.I wondered if the root portion, which is porous, may contain too much salt.Which may not be good for the fish.I have silver dollars,Giant Danio
,corys,and Bristlenose Pleco
.I don`t know if this sharp "gravel", could injure the fishes` mouths`,or not.Would it be OK to soak the teeth and do a few water changes to leach out salt before putting them in the tank?I know that putting shells, coral, and such,in a freshwater tank isn`t right, and I think it looks wrong too. But I thought the teeth might just work.Any Ideas?
