Hi, this is my first post, so please forgive any daft questions. I've read through some of the posts, but I have a couple of queries.
I have an old 4ft tank stocked mainly with botias (my wife's choice). I recently got a Trigon 190 from ebay. The tank is in great condition, but needs a thorough clean, especially as it was previously used for marines. Is there anything in particular I should do? I was going to rinse it out 3 or 4 times, wipe everything with a clean sponge, and change the filters. Do I need to change the lights? They are blue and white for marine fish, and very bright.
Once it's in place and filled and running, I will "seed" it with bogwood and rocks from the current tank, and start adding fish a few at a time after a week. Does that sound OK?
I also want to use some plants, which aren't in the current set up. What should I do to make them botia proof, and are there any you recommend?
Thanks in advance.
