Price question

Hello everyone...kinda new here and I have a question about a used aquarium.

A friend of ours has a used 35 gallon hex tank with hood and stand and said she wants to sale it. I would really like to have this tank but she wont set a price and wants us to instead. I don't want it to the point of insulting her. So was wondering if someone could suggest a decent price for this tank. I think she bought it new and had it set up as a freshwater tank.

Well, depending on the condition of the stand (whether it's got blemishes, and whether it's hardwood, fiberboard, or metal) and how new the bulbs are, along with how good of a friend she is, I'd offer about $40-$55 dollars.

I've sold fully set up tanks for about $5-$10 to friends though, so it's relative.

I think if you offered $50 that would be more than plenty. That's about the going rate on Craigslist for a used tank of that size/dimension.

What other goodies does it come with? If it's the whole deal (filters, heaters, gravel, decor, nets, foods, other stuff) that might up the price a bit. Also, a tank with a factory wood stand and canopy is going to go for a lot more than just a simple glass top, light strip and metal stand. If it's the latter with no accessories, I think $50 would be more than adequate. If it has really nice filters and heaters, I might bump it up to $75 or so. If it's a really, really nice tank with wooden furniture, you might be looking at $100 or more.
