Pet Snail: Algae on Shell

Hello. I have a 6 gallon Marineland Aquarium with 3 Zebra Danio fish.

Last month I bought a black snail for the aquarium. He seems to be doing well except now I notice his shell is getting green. I think it's algae..
I have to keep wiping algae off the aquarium glass when I clean it.

Should I try to clean his shell off with a damp cloth when I clean the aquarium? Maybe I should get some treatment to try to kill off the algae in the aquarium.

Also does he need any special food? I try to put in extra fishfood so he can eat that off the bottom of the tank.

Don't get any chems to kill algae, as they usually do the job, but may harm your fish in the long run. You may want to think about adding real plants to your tank to fight the algae growth. Otherwise just wipe his shell clean.
