Pearl Gouramis.. Any good?

Im wanting a type of gourami for my 56 community, and i was leaning toward pearls, are they good for that, or should i get a different kind?

Depends on your water parameters and what else you want in your tank. I hav one in my 29 gallon, a male, and he is very colorful and active. If your wanting a group I have no experience, but than be aggressive towards each other.

Check the profiles on the navigation bar. The pearl gourami is in there. Or click the shaded name pearl gourami.

Well its gonna be in with harlequin rasboras, boesemani rainbows, corys, clown loaches, and a rainbow shark. Maybe some angelfish. And its either going to be alone or with another pearl

Well someone more experienced people should chime in, however clown loaches get very big and should be kept in a group of at least 5 so they would not work well in your tank.

Also I believe the rainbow shark and the corys may not get along. I'm not positive on that though.

Also they pearl gourami proably wont work with Angels. I would pick one or the other. Like I said. Those with more experience will chime in soon to give you some more insight.

well, if i went with the pearl, id probably go with neons, if i went with the angels, since ive heard they would eat neons, id probably go with something else like barbs

And if i dont get clown loaches, i might go with kuhlii loaches.

100% scratch the clowns. They will not work in your tank. Other smaller loaches will work as long a they are in a minimum group of 5 and added to an established tank.

Others will help with the other fish better than I can.

I'm glad this is still in the planning stage, because there are some real issues with combining some of these fish.

Have a read of the profile of the species you are considering, all of them are in our profiles under the second tab from the left in the blue bar across the top. It mentions compatibility issues in each, where that is relevant.
