Ok, so I went to walmart with my mom, and got my tank like 5 minutes ago, its a really nice 10g..... It was worth all my Christmas money!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll keep u updated with pics soon as i can, but its still in the box sooooo I cant right now! I"M SO EXITED!!!!!!!
i always love unboxing a new tank half the fun is setting it up ad desighning it, with that said what kinda them r u go n for and what type of fish do what to get ....... have fun
Congratulations! Any idea as to what you want to put in it?
Keep in mind that it's always best to cycle the tank before adding any fish. If you haven't already, I strongly recommend buying an API Freshwater Master Test Kit (much cheaper online at places like Drs. Foster and Smith and Aquariumguys than in stores like Petsmart) and researching how to do a fishless cycle on the tank. You won't be able to have fish right away if you do this, but it will save you a lot of grief down the road.
Thanks everybody! and ya its my first 10g, and don't worry I'm gonna let it cycle! I just finished putting it together at like 11pm last night! Its really awesome! I need to finish getting my decorations, and get a heater, I'll prly do that tomorrow. I am still REALLY exited! I'm not quite sure what fish I want yet, although if I get tiny shoaling fish, I'll prly get neon tetras, never had them, and they are so cool! Pics will come as soon as I get some water and stuff in my tank, prly 2mro!
thanks dramaqueen! I can't wait! AHHHHHH I"m EXITED!!!!!!!! I have so much energy right now! Stocking ideas? Also I don't want a betta... (i do like bettas, and they can be ok in a community tank, but i don't think I really want one in this tank)
I don't like the idea of bettas in community tanks. I know that a lot of people do it though and have success with it. The neon tetras sound good. I don't really know much about other fish. I have a neighbor that has a tank full of tetras. I have no idea what kind because I've never seen her tank.
