My barbs and plecos in my 33 finish off 6 inches of celery heart in a 24 hour period, and terrorize my hand when I'm putting it in as if they're terretorial over the celery...Even the plecos try and nom my hand off! The behavior is interesting, but is the raw celery consumption normal like that? They're insanely active since I've been giving it to them. Started off with a single inch which didn't make it overnight and now I'm up to six inches and a dare not put more in until I get more barbs...
I also feed them a home made cichlid mix with raw shrimp, cod, squid, crab, ect, peas, carrots, spinach, garlic, and vitamins.... 4 half centimeter squares about 3mm thick...they kill it off in about 6 seconds....and they get that every other day now since they terrorize the celery overnight like it's the last piece they'll ever have, or as if they're starving to death or something...
They also won't touch it cooked, blanched, or flash fried. Or from the freezer. It HAS to be raw with the hard skin cut off.
Is this normal for Barbs and BN Plecos? The Plecos have grown a cm in the last 3 days...
