isnt that nitrous oxide? if aquariums can creat no2 i would be rich selling nos...
well....if fish poop can make cars go faster,...lol....but i think it would be hard to get the no2 into a useable form, and extracted from the water itself. lol
In aquarium vocabulary, nitrites is just one of the substances you test. They can be dangerous however if detected. If your nitrites are high, adding salt will help. Make sure not to add excessive salt though.
blue, since he's a beginner, it might be better if you didnt tell him to add salt unless you explain specifically what KIND of salt, how much, etc...especially since at this point he would be guessing as to what his nitrate levels were. he hasnt had his water tested yet.
