A good rule of thumb is to not put fish into a tank that they cannot inhabit as adults (except in cases of fry), as it can severely damage their growth and their behavior. There is also the possibility of the larger tank not working out, of plans changing. Then you're stuck with fish in a much smaller tank than they should ever be subjected to.

If you're getting a larger tank later, why not just wait until you have it set up and cycled to get the angels, and put fish suited to your tank size in yours? It will be much better all around :)

I agree, none of the fish listed are rare, you will easily be able to get them all if and when you have a tank large enough to support them.

In addition, Angelfish should only be added to an established aquarium and it is best for any other fish in the tank if the Angelfish are added last.

I don't have the tanks yet but for the 30 could I do a Cichlid tank

Hey there , I read all the replies and your questions it sounds to me like you want the angels , I can understand that my wife is the same way she says thats just what she sees when someone says fish lol . You could always consider having the angels in your 30 and maybe a 20 gal tank for a small tropical communal tank of tettras just keep in mind what ppl keep telling you , soft or hard will make a diffrence in your fish health if eveything else is great that could be the factor that decides if they live or die .
And you didnt list any live plants ... are you gonna add any or will they all be plastic? the live plants will help your tank guaranted they give oxygen , help cycleing , and the fish will nibble on them from time to time .

Yup I do want those Angles but as I said earlier I could always do chiclid tank because those are very pretty

the main thing is to read up on what your fish require and try to meet them as closely as possible

The chiclid tank is a great idea !! They are so pretty and fun to watch , .
The main thing I would say about that is that chiclids are in two main groups african and south american and they dont like each other for the most part from my experiance ,.
You can house diff types together as long as they are from the same region though but not oposite okay.
And they really like caves, you need decor for them to establish territory between themselves that will keep aggresion down alot .
