Is there a window downstairs close to an outside water spigot? With a Python vaccum it may make water changes easier. I used fivegallon buckets for years and just recently got a python with a used 80gal. I kick myself at each water change for not getting one sooner. I simply used five gallon buckets to siphon out 25 percent of the water and then placed a mark on the aquarium with magic marker,When using the python I can draw off water down to that mark. The only draw back is that To add dechlorinator you really should add enough to treat the whole tank BEFORE switching the python to fill. Or at least that's how I do it. No negative results thus Far :) .

update. yeah so i set up my new fish tank. bought new ciclids 11 of them. they were swiming around andeverything at first and then they all started hanging around on the bottom. 1 died then they all died but 2. what sould i do to get my ph up. i bought the product ph up and it only raised it to 7.5 and i put a 8.5 buffer in there and its still 7.5 any input?!?!

Did you cycle the new tank before you added fish? What type of substrate or gravel did you put in the new tank? Depending on the type of cichlids I would probably want a substrate with argonite sand, Or crushed coral to achieve the proper PH. Did you research the fish before you bought them? Some cichlids do best in PH values of eight or above and some can do well in lower ph.

update. i guess my ph was really low it is 8.5 now 2 of my fish survived so i just went out and got 4 more. and they look to me happy and fine
