Ok so you guys have seen my old 150 gallon fish tank. i am getting rid of it. it seams to have this film that wont come off and i am getting tired of looking at a cloudy tank that really isnt cloudy. and another thing is i dont have a stand so it is siting on bricks. Ok so i am going to pick up this 75 gallon fish tank on friday let me no what you think. i want input!!!! i am paying 200 for the tank stand and everything in the tank and filter and light etc.. i was thinking of doing a communiall tank but i really dont no then i was thinking about do chiclids? let me no what you think. to add i am doing a sand bottom. and my boss just gave me a coralife light for it. should turn out nice. i want input!![/img]

nice tank man sounds like a good find. i cant wait til i move get a house so i can get a nice big tank like that lol.

as for stocking your options are huge. so what do you like? do you want schooling fish? also is anything from your big tank making a move over into this one?

nope i gave all my fish away. and idk what i like my friend has ciclids but i dont no if i like them alot. and i like fish that kind of have a personallity if you no what i mean

well its really hard to suggest what to do. i mean everyone has their own tastes.

i say go to your lfs. take a pen and paper and write down all the names of the fish you like. come home look them up. see if their aggressive and how big they get etc. post a list of what you like here also. and that will give you a good start. just think youve got like at least 2 - 3 weeks to figure it out while you cycle the tank. :)

If I were you I would get oscars!! I'm completely in love with these guys and as soon as I'm able to, I'm getting one. They have a great personality, and when you wiggle your fingers over the tank they go insane (Never actually had one try and attack me but I'm sure its possible) A 75 gallon would be perfect for a few of them.

Ew a 150 gallon tank on bricks? How did that go? Sounds scary.

How about dwarf cichlids? they stay relatively small and they are not as aggressive as say african cichlids. With a sand bottom a school of corys would love it. Maybe some cherry barbs too! :)

check my last thread there is a picture of my tank. they were landscaping bricks so they didnt look bad. But it didnt look like a fish tank stand you no. And i hate oscars. i had 5 of them in the 150 gallon. i had to do water changes almost everyweek becasue there so dirty

Weekly water changes are a good idea regardless of the fish.

Lol, they are still great fish. And I do water changes on all my tanks weekly. But yeah I guess if you've already had them then there would be no reason to have them again.

yeah but it is pretty hard to do a water change weekly on a 150 gallon fish tank that is downstairs and i have a canister filter and a empor 400 filter on the tank. and with tank all the fish poo shows up so much so i have to vacum every week 2.
