I would not put these two together, simply because B. kubotai should have some space (they grow to five inches and need preferably a 4-foot tank) and the Boraras species get totally "lost" in such large tanks. I had this occur in a 4-foot 70g some time back. The larger loaches might find the Boraras attractive as food.
I have two of the "dwarf" species of loach [Yunnanilus cruciatus and Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki] in with my Boraras, and I've not seen any issues and all the Boraras are still present after more than a year now. I also have the coral red pencilfish in this tank, Nannostomus mortenthaleri, and this has been a superb combo. The intense red of the pencils matches the intense red of the Boraras, and among all the wood and plants they are fine together. This is a 3-foot 33g aquarium.
