In this case, they won't utilize the space above waterline to lay their eggs. Many snails met their deaths when they fell from tanks while looking for their spawning sites. It is advisable to leave 2 inches of space above waterline and cover the tank although there are some cases where the snails simply do not go astray outside the tanks. |
